Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui this afternoon (October 1) in which an 88-year-old man was killed.
About 12.45pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 54-year-old man was travelling along Wo Mun Street towards Luen On Street. When turning left onto Luen On Street, the PLB reportedly knocked down the 88-year-old man, who was crossing the road.
The man sustained head injuries and was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in conscious state. He was certified dead at 4.22pm.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving and was released on bail pending further investigation.
Investigations will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North will be under way.
