Draft Pak Lap Development Permission Area Plan gazetted
*******************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (September 30) announced the publication of the Draft Pak Lap Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.

The area, covering about 6.8 hectares, is completely enclosed by the Sai Kung East Country Park.  There are mountain ranges to its east, north and west.  To the south of the area is the scenic coastline, including the beach of Pak Lap Wan which has been designated as part of Sai Kung East Country Park.

A spokesman for the Town Planning Board said the general planning intention is to protect its high landscape value which complements the overall naturalness and the landscape beauty of the surrounding Sai Kung East Country Park.

The entire area is designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses in the course of preparing an Outline Zoning Plan.

The draft Pak Lap DPA Plan is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sai Kung and Islands District Planning Office, the Sai Kung District Office, and the Sai Kung Rural Committee.

Any person may make representations in respect of the draft plan to the Secretary of the Board on or before November 30.

Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei.  The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb/).
