Approved Cheung Sha Wan Outline Zoning Plan amended
***************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (September 30) announced amendments to the approved Cheung Sha Wan Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involved imposing building height restrictions for various zones to guide future development/redevelopment in the Cheung Sha Wan area.  The main objectives are to provide better planning control on new developments and to meet public aspirations for greater certainty and transparency in the statutory planning system.

Other amendments included the designation of non-building area and building gap as well as specification of setback requirements to facilitate air ventilation and rezoning various sites to reflect completed developments/as-built conditions on the sites or the planning intention for the sites.

The draft Cheung Sha Wan OZP No. S/K5/32, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the Board, the planning enquiry counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Tsuen Wan and West Kowloon District Planning Office and Sham Shui Po District Office.

Any person may make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before November 30.  Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei.  The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb.
