*********************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (September 30) announced the publication of the Draft So Lo Pun Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.

The area, covering about 27.68 hectares, is located in the coastal area of Sha Tau Kok East and surrounded by Plover Cove Country Park facing Kat O Hoi.

A spokesman for the Town Planning Board said the general planning intention is to protect the natural and landscape character of the area which complements the overall naturalness and landscape beauty of the surrounding Plover Cove Country Park.

The entire area is designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses. Any use or development, other than the always permitted "Agricultural Use", will require planning permission from the Town Planning Board.

The draft So Lo Pun DPA Plan is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office, the North District Office and the Sha Tau Kok District Rural Committee.

Any person may make representations in respect of the draft plan to the Secretary of the Board on or before November 30.

Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
