With the cooperation and understanding of the villagers in general, the Government completed successfully its clearance operation at Tsz Tin Tsuen in Tuen Mun Area 54 Site 2 today (September 28).
In light of the judgment of the High Court handed down on September 24, 2010 dismissing the judicial review applications by some of the occupants of Tsz Tin Tsuen, the Government resumed the clearance of the Tsz Tin Tsuen today.
A government spokesman said "The clearance operation commenced at around 9 am. With the cooperation and understanding of the affected villagers in general, clearance of the whole site was eventually completed at around 5 pm. The Government took possession of the premises of 72 households/business undertakings today. Rehousing or ex-gratia allowance has been offered to the eligible households and business undertakings according to the established policy.
"For individual household who has difficulty to move out, the Government, after taking possession of all of the premises concerned, will allow them to return to the site to clear their belongings over the next one or two days. All statutory procedures for the clearance operation have been duly completed and the clearance operation was completed in strict compliance with the law."
