***************************************************

A roving exhibition was launched today (September 24) in Langham Place, Mong Kok, to promote Hong Kong's participation in Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo).

The three-day exhibition opens daily from 11am to 11pm until Sunday (September 26). A model of the Hong Kong Pavilion is on display at Langham Place so that visitors can learn about the design and architectural characteristics of the pavilion.

Next month's Hong Kong Week will be the highlight of Hong Kong's participation in Shanghai Expo. Panels, videos and a computer presentation at the exhibition will give visitors a flavour of events and activities organised for Hong Kong Week.

Hong Kong Week gets under way at the Baosteel Stage in Shanghai Expo Park on October 18 and will include an exciting array of performances and cultural events for five days.

Visitors to the Langham Place exhibition will have the opportunity to pose for photos with the Shanghai Expo mascot "Haibao" from 1pm to 5pm tomorrow and on Sunday.

Roving exhibitions will continue to be held at different venues around Hong Kong until October.

Hong Kong has a strong Shanghai Expo presence. The focal point is the stand-alone Hong Kong Pavilion under the theme "Hong Kong - Potential Unlimited", while Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition is themed "Smart Card ¡P Smart City ¡P Smart Life". Netizens can also experience the city's virtual presence in the Expo Shanghai Online project.

Sixty events and activities involving some 100 performances are being staged by Hong Kong in Shanghai during the six-month Shanghai Expo period to showcase Hong Kong's cultural diversity, creative talent and modern lifestyle.
