The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (September 22) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of about $117,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court today granted a judgment against the employer, Profit Luck Investment Limited trading as Dor Hay Seafood Restaurant. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA $117,735.35, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 68 employees.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendant to pay costs of $930.
