Police are investigating a homicide and suicide case in Sha Tin this afternoon (September 21) in which a 60-year-old man and his 53-year-old wife died.
About 2.09pm, a 24-year-old man made a report to the Police that his father attempted to commit suicide in a flat on No. 2 - 18 Lok King Street. Police officers sped to the scene and a 53-year-old woman was found unconscious inside the flat. She was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at 2.56pm. Police found a basin with burnt charcoal at scene and bruises were found on the deceased's neck.
Police later located a 60-year-old man lying unconsciously on the podium who was believed to have fallen from height. He was certified dead at scene.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted tomorrow (September 22) to ascertain the cause of their death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sha Tin are underway.
