The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (September 21) published the September 2010 issue of its Quarterly Bulletin.
This issue of the Quarterly Bulletin contains the regular Half-Yearly Monetary and Financial Stability Report. The Report provides detailed analyses of the global and local economy, as well as the monetary and financial conditions in Hong Kong. It also examines the recent performance and risks of the local banking sector.
The issue also contains the following two feature articles:
- The foreign-exchange and derivatives markets in Hong Kong - showing that Hong Kong is the sixth largest centre for foreign-exchange activity and the seventh when over-the-counter derivatives are also included.
- Common Platform Model for Asia: a collaborative effort to improve the post-trade processing infrastructure for debt securities in Asia - explaining the background and initiatives regarding the proposed development of a Common Platform Model for Asia in the long run to improve the cross-border post-trade clearing and settlement infrastructure for debt securities in Asia.
The Quarterly Bulletin can be viewed on and downloaded from the HKMA website. A separate, printed version of the Half-Yearly Monetary and Financial Stability Report (English version) may be ordered at $60 per copy. The Report may also be bought at the HKMA Information Centre on 55th Floor, Two International Finance Centre.
