Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tsing Yi this morning (September 20) in which an 11-year-old boy was killed.
At about 7.15am, a school bus driven by a 31-year-old woman was travelling along Tsing King Road towards Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road. When reaching near Tsing Luk Street, the school bus reportedly hit the 11-year-old boy who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries, the boy was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.41am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.
