Restaurant in Yuen Long ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Yuen Long to suspend business for seven days and 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises is located at Shop No 6, ground floor, Phase 1, Hing Fook Building, 19 Ping Wui Street.

     The 21-day suspension will take place from today (September 17) to October 7.

     "In January and July this year, there were two convictions for illegal extension of food business at the said food premises. A total fine of $6,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the seven-day business suspension," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "There were another two convictions in June this year for the same offence involving the food premises again. A total fine of $9,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were further registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for 14 days," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
