Approved Causeway Bay Outline Zoning Plan amended
*************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (September 17) announced amendments to the approved Causeway Bay Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involved imposing building height restrictions to provide better planning control on development/redevelopment and to meet public aspirations for a better living environment. The "Commercial/Residential" sites are rezoned "Commercial", "Residential (Group A)" and "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Mixed Use" to provide a clear planning intention for the relevant sites.

Other amendments include designation of non-building areas and building gaps to facilitate air ventilation, and specification of setback requirements for footpath widening to facilitate pedestrian movement and roadside loading/unloading activities.

The draft Causeway Bay OZP No. S/H6/15, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Hong Kong District Planning Office and the Wan Chai District Office.

Any person may make written representation in respect of the amendments to the secretary of the Board on or before November 17. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft Causeway Bay OZP No. S/H6/15 are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
