The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health received reports of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreaks in seven schools affecting 32 persons during the 24 hours ending at noon today (September 14).
Reports about Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) outbreaks involving 12 persons in four schools were received during the same period.
The above brought to 18 and 22 respectively the cumulative totals of ILI and HFMD outbreak reports since the start of the new school term in September.
Schools should refer to the guidelines on prevention of communicable diseases for practical information on preventive measures of common communicable diseases. More information are available on the website of CHP at www.chp.gov.hk.
