The Sha Tin Festival opening ceremony cum Mid-Autumn Festival variety show will be held at Sha Tin Sports Ground on September 22 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the opening of the Sha Tin Festival, which is held once every four years. A total of 9,000 free admission tickets for the show will be distributed to members of the public from tomorrow (September 15).
The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang; Sha Tin District Officer, Mrs Do Pang Wai-yee, and Chairman of the Sha Tin District Council, Mr Wai Kwok-hung, will officiate at the ceremony.
Local artists Leo Ku, Vincy Chan, Ella Koon, Nikki Chow, Juno Mak, Sherman Chung, Endy Chow, Bianca Wu and Bonald Leung will perform at the show and join audiences in lantern riddles.

Themed "Harmonious Family", the 2010/2011 Sha Tin Festival will be held from September 22, 2010, to February 19, 2011. During the festival, a wide range of cultural and arts, sports, tourism and carnival activities will be organised to showcase the latest developments in Sha Tin District. Residents are encouraged to take part in community activities to strengthen their sense of belonging to the community.
The Sha Tin Festival opening ceremony cum Mid-Autumn Festival variety show is jointly organised by the Sha Tin District Council, the 2010/2011 Organising Committee of the Sha Tin Festival, the Sha Tin District Fight Crime Committee and the Sha Tin District Office.
