Special Stamps Issuing Programme for 2011 and launch of 2011 Local Standing Order Service
************************************************************

Hongkong Post today (September 9) announced details of the Special Stamps Issuing Programme 2011 and the 2011 Local Standing Order Service (LSOS).

2011 marks many historical events and a significant milestone in the development of several prominent institutions in Hong Kong. Hongkong Post will be celebrating such occasions with special stamp issues.

The Special Stamps Issuing Programme has a wide variety of attractive themes including commemorative issues such as "Centenary of Powered Flight in Hong Kong", "150th Anniversary of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce", "Centenary of the University of Hong Kong" and "Centenary of Xinhai Revolution". It also features contemporary topics like "Volunteerism", "Green Living" and "Tamar Development Project" to reflect emerging community interests and concerns. This contrast highlights the remarkable evolution that transformed Hong Kong from a small trading port into an international metropolis.

The themes and topics were carefully selected from among 121 entries and meticulously developed from 71 initial designs by the Stamp Advisory Committee in a series of meetings held throughout 2009 and 2010. Relevant details are set out at Appendix 1.

Advance orders for the Special Stamps Issuing Programme may be placed from today through LSOS, and those who do so from September 9 to October 15, 2010 are eligible to join an incentive scheme and receive exquisite gifts.  Customers using Hongkong Post's Stamp OnNet service will also enjoy extra rewards, the chance to win a lucky draw for 10 panes of "Heartwarming Stamps Customised Service" stamps as well as an extended period to take advantage of the incentive scheme until October 31, 2010.  Relevant details are set out at Appendix 2.

Further information about the special stamp issues and related products can be obtained from Hongkong Post's website at www.hongkongpost.com and any post offices, or by calling the Hongkong Post Philatelic Bureau hotline at 2785 5711.
