The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health received one report of an influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreak in a school affecting three persons in the three days ending at noon today (September 6).
Reports about hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreaks involving five persons in two schools were received during the same period.
These reports brought to one and four respectively the cumulative totals of ILI and HFMD outbreaks reported since the start of the new school term in September.
Schools should refer to the guidelines on prevention of communicable diseases for practical information on measures to prevent common communicable diseases. More information is available on the CHP website at www.chp.gov.hk.
