Draft Tuen Mun Outline Zoning Plan amended
******************************************

The Town Planning Board today (September 3) announced amendments to the draft Tuen Mun Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involve rezoning and minor adjustments to zoning boundaries to reflect existing public utility facilities, public open spaces, government, institution or community facilities, as well as the current Tuen Mun Road improvement projects. Adjustments to the Notes of the "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Power Station" zone have also been made to impose restrictions on development intensity to reflect the existing situation at the site and to allow the inclusion of new environmental improvement measures. New Notes for "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Telephone Exchange" have also been incorporated to tie in with new zoning covering an existing development.

The draft Tuen Mun OZP No.S/TM/27, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during normal office hours at the secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Tuen Mun and Yuen Long District Planning Office, Tuen Mun District Office and Tuen Mun Rural Committee.

Any person can make a written representation on the amendments to the secretary of the Board on or before November 3. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft Tuen Mun OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
