The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health had not received any reports of influenza-like illness (ILI) outbreaks in schools during the 24 hours ending at noon today (September 3).
A report about one hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) outbreak involving three persons in one school was received during the same period.
There have been two HFMD outbreaks and no ILI outbreaks since the start of the new school term in September.
Schools should refer to the guidelines on prevention of communicable diseases for practical information on measures to prevent common communicable diseases. More information is available on the CHP website at www.chp.gov.hk.
