Police will implement special traffic arrangements tomorrow (August 29) to facilitate a public meeting and procession to mourn for the Hong Kong tourists slain in the Manila bus hostage tragedy.
(A) Road closure
The following roads will be closed from 12.30pm and as necessary:
(1) Southbound Gloucester Road U-turn slip road to northbound Gloucester Road near junction with Sugar Street;
(2) Sugar Street;
(3) Great George Street;
(4) A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street;
(5) A section of westbound Kingston Street between Gloucester Road and Paterson Street;
(6) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park flyover and Causeway Road;
(7) Cleveland Street;
(8) A section of eastbound Kingston Street between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road;
(9) A section of Paterson Street between Gloucester Road and Kingston Street;
(10) Yacht Street;
(11) A section of Lau Li Street between Ngan Mok Street and Hing Fat Street;
(12) A section of Electric Road between Lau Sin Street and Tsing Fung Street;
(13) A section of Lau Sin Street between the cul-de-sac outside Park Tower and Hing Fat Street;
(14) A section of Hing Fat Street between Causeway Road and Lau Sin Street;
(15) A section of northbound Tai Hang Road flyover between a slip road to Tung Lo Wan Road and westbound Victoria Park Road; and
(16) A section of southbound Percival Street between Gloucester Road Service Road and Lockhart Road.
The following roads will be closed from 2.15pm and as necessary:
(1) Jardine's Bazaar;
(2) Tang Lung Street;
(3) A section of Canal Road East between Russell Street and Hennessy Road;
(4) A section of Canal Road West between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road;
(5) A section of Wan Chai Road between Canal Road West and Morrison Hill Road; and
(6) A section of Bowrington Road between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road.
The following roads will be closed from 2.30pm and as necessary:
(1) Westbound Causeway Road;
(2) Moreton Terrace;
(3) Shelter Street;
(4) A slip road leading from eastbound Yee Wo Street to westbound Causeway Road;
(5) Irving Street;
(6) A section of Pennington Street between Keswick Street and Yee Wo Street;
(7) Westbound Yee Wo Street;
(8) Westbound Hennessy Road;
(9) A section of Lee Garden Road between Kai Chiu Road and Hennessy Road;
(10) Kai Chiu Road;
(11) A section of Yun Ping Road between Lan Fong Road and Kai Chiu Road;
(12) A section of Percival Street between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road;
(13) A slip road leading from eastbound Johnston Road to westbound Hennessy Road;
(14) A section of Thomson Road between Johnston Road and Luard Road;
(15) A section of Luard Road between Johnston Road and Hennessy Road;
(16) A section of Fenwick Street between Hennessy Road and Johnston Road;
(17) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park flyover and Causeway Road;
(18) A section of westbound Johnston Road between Ship Street and Hennessy Road except tram service; and
(19) A section of eastbound Johnston Road between Landale Street and Hennessy Road except tram service.
The following roads will be closed from 3pm and as necessary:
(1) Westbound Queensway;
(2) A slip road leading from northbound Justice Drive to westbound Queensway;
(3) A slip road leading from southbound Cotton Tree Drive flyover to westbound Queensway;
(4) Bank Street;
(5) A section of Ice House Street between Queen's Road Central and Des Voeux Road Central; and
(6) A section of westbound Des Voeux Road Central between Queensway and Pedder Street.
The following roads will be closed from 3.30pm and as necessary:
(1) A section of eastbound Des Voeux Road Central between Pedder Street and Murray Road;
(2) Chater Road between Jackson Road and Murray Road; and
(3) Jackson Road;
(4) Club Street; and
(5) The unnamed road adjacent to 1 Connaught Road Central.
(B) Traffic Diversion
The following traffic diversion will be implemented from 12.30pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along southbound Gloucester Road will not be allowed to turn right to the U-turn slip road leading to northbound Gloucester Road;
(2) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will not be allowed to turn left to Sugar Street;
(3) Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road flyover will not be allowed to turn left to westbound Kingston Street;
(4) Traffic along southbound Paterson Street must turn left to eastbound Kingston Street;
(5) Traffic along southbound Cleveland Street will not be allowed to turn right to westbound Kingston Street;
(6) Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road flyover must go straight to northbound Victoria Park Road flyover leading to westbound Gloucester Road;
(7) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will not be allowed to turn left to southbound Percival Street;
(8) Traffic along eastbound Causeway Road will not be allowed to turn left to northbound Hing Fat Street; and
(9) Traffic along westbound King's Road will not be allowed to turn right to northbound Hing Fat Street.
The following traffic diversion will be implemented from 2.15pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will not be allowed to turn left to Jardine's Bazaar;
(2) Traffic along westbound Hennessy Road will not be allowed to turn left to southbound Canal Road East;
(3) Traffic along westbound Russell Street must turn left at the junction with Canal Road East;
(4) Traffic along northbound Canal Road West near the junction with Sharp Street West will be diverted to up-ramp leading to northbound Canal Road flyover;
(5) Traffic along eastbound Sharp Street West will be diverted to up-ramp leading to northbound Canal Road flyover;
(6) Traffic along eastbound Sharp Street West will not be allowed to turn left to northbound Bowrington Road;
(7) Traffic along northbound Bowrington Road must turn right to eastbound Sharp Street West;
(8) Traffic along eastbound Wan Chai Road must turn right to southbound Morrison Hill Road;
(9) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will not be allowed to turn left to southbound Cleveland Street;
(10) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will not be allowed to turn left to southbound Paterson Street;
(11) Traffic along the slip road leading from westbound Victoria Park Road to Gloucester Road Service Road must turn right before the junction with Cleveland Street; and
(12) Traffic along southbound Victoria Park flyover must turn right to Gloucester Road Service Road.
The following traffic diversion will be implemented from 2.30pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic from westbound King's Road must turn left to southbound Tung Lo Wan Road, or turn right to northbound Hing Fat Street;
(2) Traffic along westbound Tung Lo Wan Road will not be allowed to turn right to Moreton Terrace;
(3) Traffic along northbound Tung Lo Wan Road will not be allowed to enter Irving Street and must turn left to westbound Leighton Road;
(4) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street must turn right to Keswick Street;
(5) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will not be allowed to turn right to southbound Tung Lo Wan Road or westbound Leighton Road;
(6) Traffic along northbound Yun Ping Road must turn left to westbound Lan Fong Road;
(7) Traffic on Kai Chiu Road must turn left to southbound Lee Garden Hill Road and turn right to Fu Ming Street;
(8) Traffic along westbound Leighton Road must turn left to Wong Nai Chung Road except franchised bus;
(9) Traffic along southbound Percival Street must turn left or right to Lockhart Road;
(10) Traffic along eastbound Lockhart Road will not be allowed to turn right to southbound Percival Street;
(11) Traffic along northbound Tin Lok Lane will not be allowed to turn left to westbound Hennessy Road;
(12) Traffic along southbound Stewart Road will not be allowed to turn right to westbound Hennessy Road;
(13) Traffic along southbound Fleming Road will not be allowed to turn right to westbound Hennessy Road;
(14) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will not be allowed to turn left to westbound Hennessy Road;
(15) Traffic along southbound Fenwick Street must turn left to eastbound Hennessy Road;
(16) Traffic along eastbound Hennessy Road will not be allowed to turn right to southbound Fenwick Street;
(17) Traffic along northbound Tai Wong Street East must turn right to eastbound Johnston Road;
(18) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road will not be allowed to turn right to Thomson Road;
(19) Traffic along eastbound Johnston Road will not be allowed to turn left to Thomson Road;
(20) Traffic along eastbound Johnston Road will not be allowed to turn left to northbound Luard Road;
(21) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road will not be allowed to turn right to northbound Luard Road;
(22) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road must turn left to southbound Ship Street; and
(23) Traffic along northbound Landale Street must turn right to eastbound Johnston Road.
The following traffic diversion will be implemented from 3pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along northbound Justice Drive will not be allowed to turn left to westbound Queensway;
(2) Traffic along westbound Queen's Road East must turn left to Justice Drive;
(3) Traffic along eastbound Queensway will not be allowed to turn right to eastbound Queen's Road East;
(4) Traffic along eastbound Queensway will not be allowed to turn right to southbound Cotton Tree Drive;
(5) Traffic along southbound Cotton Tree Drive flyover will not be allowed to turn right to the down ramp near 1 Garden Road leading to westbound Queensway; and
(6) Traffic along northbound Ice House Street will be diverted to westbound Queen's Road Central.
The following traffic diversion will be implemented from 3.30pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along eastbound Des Voeux Road Central will be diverted to northbound Pedder Street;
(2) Traffic along westbound Lambeth Walk will be diverted to southbound Murray Road; and
(3) Traffic along westbound Connaught Road Central will not be allowed to turn left to Club Street.
(C) Suspension of bus stops
All bus stops along the closed roads and the bus stops on eastbound Causeway Road between southbound Gloucester Road and Hing Fat Street will be suspended from 2.30pm until the resumption of bus services.
Subject to crowd situation on Hing Fat Street and its vicinity, the bus and green minibus terminuses underneath Park Tower will be suspended from 12.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the roads are re-opened.
(D) Suspension of public light bus (PLB) and taxi stands
All PLB stands and taxi stands along the closed roads will be suspended from 2.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the roads are re-opened.
(E) Suspension of on-street parking spaces
All metered and non-metered on-street parking spaces along the closed roads and Tung Lo Wan Road will be suspended between 12.30pm and 8pm.
(F) Suspension of car parks
The parking spaces of Victoria Park Public carpark will be suspended from 11am to 7pm, except the disabled parking spaces.
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public or private car parks from 12.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the roads are re-opened:
(1) 310 Gloucester Road (entrance at Great George Street);
(2) 311 Gloucester Road (entrance at Great George Street); and
(3) 2 Paterson Street (entrance at Great George Street).
Subject to crowd situation on Hing Fat Street and its vicinity, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public or private car parks from 12.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the roads are re-opened:
(1) 1 King's Road; and
(2) 40 Hing Fat Street.
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public or private car parks from 2.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the roads are re-opened:
(1) 9 Moreton Terrace;
(2) 66 Causeway Road;
(3) 88 Yee Wo Street;
(4) 18-30 Irving Street;
(5) On Lok Lane;
(6) 338 Hennessy Road;
(7) 250 Hennessy Road; and
(8) 48 Hennessy Road.
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public or private car parks from 3pm until the crowd is dispersed and the roads are re-opened:
(1) 1 Garden Road;
(2) all carparks along Ice House Street between Queen's Road Central and Des Voeux Road Central.
(G) Suspension of Tram Stops
(1) Tram stops at both bounds of Causeway Road will be suspended from 2.30pm until the crowd is dispersed; and
(2) Tram stops along both bounds of Yee Wo Street near Paterson Street will be suspended from 2.30pm onwards if necessary.
