The Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) provides quality and professional services to the public. Force members, whether regular or auxiliary, are good police officers if they have done their work well.
This was said by HKAPF Commandant, Mr Kwok Chi-shun, today (August 28) when inspecting a joint passing-out parade for the HKAPF Special Basic Training Course 2010 under the Auxiliary Undergraduate Scheme and Annual Continuation Training.
Mr Kwok said that after years of effort following the introduction of reforms into the HKAPF in 1999, it was now on a par with the regular force in recruitment, training, appraisal, promotion and front-line work.
He encouraged all auxiliary members to continue to serve with dignity, decency, dedication and diligence in order to become outstanding auxiliary police officers.
In addition, he emphasised the importance of enhancing communication among auxiliary members as well as between the HKAPF and various sectors in the community.
The Auxiliary Police Voluntary Service Cadre established during his tenure provides service for voluntary organisations and underprivileged communities. The Auxiliary Facilitator Scheme enhances communication among auxiliary members and promotes a healthy lifestyle. The HKAPF Sports and Family Day strengthens the ties between auxiliary members and their families, and enhances the understanding and support of other disciplined forces and members of the public for the work of the HKAPF.
Upon leaving the HKAPF after 33 years' service, Mr Kwok said he felt very honoured and proud to have served as the HKAPF Commandant and paid high tribute to the work and contribution of his colleagues. He believed they would continue to dedicate their best efforts to the HKAPF and endeavour to train new auxiliary members.
