Chinese Temples Committee's response to media enquiries
*******************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Chinese Temples Committee:

In response to press enquiries on a newspaper notice issued by Yin Hing Monastery yesterday (August 26), a spokesman for the Chinese Temples Committee made the following statement today (August 27):

Yin Hing Monastery was registered as a Chinese Temple in January 1969, then operated by Rev. Sik Miu Chi. The monastery has since undergone various changes in management over the past 40 years. It is understood that the monastery has had no religious connection with the representative local Buddhist organisations in recent years. The current operator, HK Yin Hing Monastery Co. Ltd. (literal translation from Chinese only), is not a registered non-profit-making charitable organisation.
