Injured tour member Mr Jason Leung Song-xue and his mother Mrs Leung, who survived the hostage incident in Manila, flew home on an air ambulance this evening (August 26).
The duo was accompanied by the Chief of Service (Neurosurgery) of Tuen Mun Hospital, Dr Dawson Fong, who had flown to Manila to support the family.
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, the Acting Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Gabriel Leung, and the Chairman of the Hospital Authority, Mr Anthony Wu, met them upon their return at Hong Kong International Airport.
Mr Leung was taken to the Tuen Mun Hospital upon landing. A team of medical staff stand ready to provide Mr Leung with all the necessary treatment.
