Mourning for victims of Philippine hostage incident

     To mourn for the Hong Kong citizens killed in the hostage incident in the Philippines, the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will lead principal officials to attend a ceremony for flag-raising and lowering to half-mast at Golden Bauhinia Square and observe three minutes of silence in mourning at 8am tomorrow (August 26), a government spokesman announced today (August 25).

     The spokesman called on members of the public to join the ceremony or pay tribute to the victims in other appropriate ways during that time.

     During the observance of the three-minute silence, government services except for emergency services and border control will be suspended. Staff on duty will observe three minutes of silence at their respective workplaces.
