Vacancy in Islands District Council

The Director of Home Affairs declared by notice in the Gazette today (August 20) the existence of a vacancy in the Islands District Council.
The office was held by the late Mr Ng Kum-chuen, an ex-officio member of Islands District Council who passed away on August 10. In accordance with Section 18 of the District Councils Ordinance, the office has become vacant.
The South Lantao Rural Committee will meet to elect its new chairman to hold office as an ex-officio member in that member's place.
