Kai Tak North Apron Area infrastructure works - Road L19 gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (August 13) on the proposed works for Road L19 and associated infrastructure works under the Kai Tak Development, aiming to serve the proposed government, institution or community facilities and open space development in the North Apron Area of Kai Tak Airport.

     The proposed works include construction of a single two-way carriageway approximately 340 metres long with associated footpaths; permanent closure and demolition/conversion of the existing carriageway and associated footpaths approximately 100 metres long at Chi Kiang Street; temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing carriageways and footpaths; and ancillary works including drainage, water, utility and landscaping works.

     The works will commence in October 2011 and complete in December 2013.

     The plans and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours: -

(i)   Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;

(ii)   Kowloon City District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Room 1707, 17th Floor, One Harbourfront, 18 - 22 Tak Fung Street, Hung Hom; and

(iii)   District Lands Office, Kowloon West, 10th Floor, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street.

     Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before October 12.
