Organisations were invited today (August 10) to express interest and submit proposals to participate as lead organisers of the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2010.
Introduced in 2006 and supported by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the annual Hong Kong ICT Awards aim to recognise, promote and celebrate the excellent achievements of local information and communications technology (ICT) professionals and organisations in ICT innovation and application.
The awards are given in different categories in Hong Kong's priority ICT areas. Each award category is led by a professional organisation, the lead organiser, selected through a competitive admission exercise. The lead organisers will be responsible for organising award contests and selecting winners in the designated categories.
A new award category, the Best Green ICT Award, is introduced this year to give recognition to enterprises that make extensive use of advanced ICT to achieve green objectives. Including this new category, the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2010 comprise 10 categories:
* Best Business Award
* Best Collaboration Award
* Best Digital Entertainment Award
* Best Digital Inclusion Award
* Best Green ICT Award
* Best Innovation and Research Award
* Best Lifestyle Award
* Best Professional Development Award
* Best Public Service Application Award
* Best Ubiquitous Networking Award
Organisations interested in participating as a lead organiser for any one of the award categories should express their interest by contacting the secretariat office of the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2010 (e-mail: info@hkictawards.hk) by August 20. After the expression of interest, they are requested to submit proposals by August 31.
