Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 40-year-old woman was killed and a 30-year-old woman was injured in Mong Kok this morning (July 31).

     About 5.30am, a 54-year-old man parked his taxi on Sai Yee Street near Argyle Street. Later the driver drove away the taxi and made a left turn into Argyle Street. The taxi reportedly knocked down two women who were crossing the road.

     The 40-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries and the 30-year-old woman injured her limbs.  Both were rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital and the 40-year-old woman was certified dead at 5.48am.

     The taxi driver was arrested for "dangerous driving causing death" and is being detained for further enquiries.
    
     Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
