Police appeal for witnesses to traffic accident in Ngau Tau Kok

     Police are appealing for witnesses to a traffic accident in Ngau Tau Kok on July 24 in which 11 persons were injured.

     About 4.55 pm that day, a container truck carrying large piles of waste papers was travelling along Lung Cheung Road towards Kwun Tong. When approaching to a flyover near Ping Shek Estate, the truck reportedly lost control and side-turned onto the opposite carriageway. The truck then hit two private cars and two light goods vehicles on the carriageway towards Wong Tai Sin.

     Eight men and three women, aged from 11 to 51, sustained injuries and were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and United Christian Hospital respectively.

     The 44-year-old container truck driver was arrested for dangerous driving and was released on bail pending further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon East are underway.
