Roving exhibitions to show exterior design of ventilation facilities of Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link

     The Highways Department will launch a series of roving exhibitions to display various design options for the three ventilation buildings, vent shaft and administration building of the Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link (CWB).

     The roving exhibitions, which will begin on Thursday (July 29) at the CWB Community Liaison Centre, will be held at different venues on the Hong Kong Island until September 3, 2010.

     The CWB is a 4.5km long trunk road, including a 3.7km long tunnel to link Central to North Point.  The three ventilation buildings, east vent shaft and administration building will be located at the central area of Hong Kong Island and near the waterfront. The Government attaches great importance to the exterior design of these facilities and aims to gather public opinion widely.

     To introduce the design options and concepts to the public, display panels, 3-D models and flythrough video will be shown during the exhibitions. The public is invited to express their views and to choose their preferred design options during the roving exhibitions.

July 29 - August 1    
North Point: Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link Community Liaison Centre, Oil Street

August 3 - 8
Central: One International Finance Centre Main Concourse

August 10 - 12     
Wan Chai: MTR Station Concourse

August 14 - 17        
Wan Chai: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (entrance at Golden Bauhinia Square)

August 19 - 22        
Causeway Bay: Times Square Ground Floor

August 23 - 29        
North Point: Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link Community Liaison Centre, Oil Street

August 30 - September 3   
Central: The Central Oasis (former Central Market)
