A spokesman for the Department of Health said report about one hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreak was received during the three days ending at noon today (July 26). No new report of enterovirus 71 infection was received during the period.
This brings to 587 and 78 the cumulative total numbers of HFMD institutional outbreaks and laboratory confirmed EV71 infections in 2010 respectively.
The new school outbreak was in Central and Western District.
One school is closed due to an HFMD outbreak.
