Police are investigating the death of a 47-year-old Senior Police Constable who was found injured inside the male changing room at Western Police Station and later certified dead today (July 23).
At about 7.18pm, Police received a report that a Senior Police Constable attached to the District Traffic Team, Western Police District was found injured inside the male changing room at Western Police Station.
He was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead before arrival.
Initial investigation revealed that he suffered from a gun shot wound and would not exclude the possibility of suicide. Regional Crime Unit, Hong Kong Island, has taken up the investigation to establish the circumstances of his death.
A post mortem will be conducted later on the deceased to ascertain his cause of death.
