The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in June showed a decrease of 296 cases over May, representing a decrease of 0.1%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (July 21).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of June stood at
285,857 (see attached table), with a total of 478,916 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, both unemployment and low earning cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.6% to 31,558 and 15,022 cases respectively.
Single parent cases decreased by 0.3% to 35,550 while permanent disability cases decreased by 0.1% to 18,215.
However, ill-health cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.2% to 25,200 cases.
