Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this morning (July 19) in which a 72-year-old man was killed.
About 11.30am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 46-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Jordan Road. When approaching the junction of Shanghai Street, the MGV reportedly knocked down the 72-year-old man who was crossing the road.
The pedestrian sustained serious leg injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.47am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
