The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at Dragon Centre in Sham Shui Po from tomorrow (July 20) to July 22.
A total of 45 companies or organisations will participate in the job fair, with 15 companies taking part each day. They will offer a total of over 2,500 vacancies and will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment.
Companies joining the job fair mainly come from the catering, retail and property management industries. Vacancies will be offered in a wide variety of positions including shop assistant, property assistant, building attendant, warehouse assistant, salesperson, waiter or waitress, officer and manager. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the Interactive Employment Service on the department's website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Nearly 90% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. About 98% of these vacancies require Secondary 5 educational level or below. About 64% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit job applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Atrium, 1/F, Dragon Centre, 37K Yen Chow Street, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon. Admission is free.
