A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about one enterovirus 71 infection and three hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (July 13).
This brings to 565 and 72 respectively the cumulative total numbers of HFMD institutional outbreaks and laboratory confirmed EV71 infections in 2010.
The new school outbreaks were in Eastern, Islands and Sai Kung districts.
As at noon today, there was no school closure due to an HFMD outbreak.
