A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about two enterovirus 71 infections and seven hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (July 8).
This brings to 552 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new school outbreaks were in Eastern, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, North and Sai Kung.
There is currently no school closure due to an HFMD outbreak.
