A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about three enterovirus 71 infections and 12 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (July 6).
This brings to 539 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new school and institutional outbreaks were in Eastern, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, North and Sha Tin.
One school is closed due to an HFMD outbreak.
