The Government has accepted the advice of the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee and approved three grants from the Disaster Relief Fund totalling $15.18 million to three relief agencies to undertake relief projects for flood victims in Guangxi, Hunan and Jiangxi.
Announcing the grants, a government spokesman said today (July 2) that the Committee hoped the three grants - one of $5.18 million to The Amity Foundation, one of $7 million to The Salvation Army and the last one of $3 million to World Vision Hong Kong - would help provide relief to flood victims in the three places.
"To ensure that the money will be used for the designated purposes, the three relief agencies have been asked to submit evaluation reports and audited accounts on the use of the grants after the relief projects have been completed," the spokesman said.
