A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about 11 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (June 30). No new report of enterovirus 71 infection was received during the period.
This brings to 512 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new school and institutional outbreaks were in Central and Western, Eastern, Southern, Kwun Tong, Yau Tsim Mong, Islands, Kwai Tsing and Sai Kung.
Two schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
