A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about 12 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the three days ending at noon today (June 28). No new report of enterovirus 71 infection was received during the period.
This brings to 490 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new school and institutional outbreaks took place in Eastern, Southern, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Sai Kung, Sha Tin and Yuen Long.
Two schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
