The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in May showed a decrease of 941 cases over April, representing a decrease of 0.3%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (June 23).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of May stood at
286,153 (see attached table), with a total of 478,944 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.4% to 31,758 cases.
Low earning cases showed a decrease of 1.3% to 15,117 while single parent cases decreased by 0.4% to 35,660.
However, permanent disability cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.1% to 18,235 cases.
