A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about four enterovirus 71 infections and 10 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the three days ending at noon today (June 21).
This brings to 436 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new school and institutional outbreaks took place in Southern District, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwai Tsing, North District, Sai Kung and Sha Tin.
Two schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
