A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about 10 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (June 18). No new report of enterovirus 71 infection was received during the period.
This brings to 426 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new institutional outbreaks took place in Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan and Yuen Long.
Two schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
