The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (June 18) obtained an order for payment of outstanding Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) contributions at about $52,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgment against an employer, New Wave Creation Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $52,710, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to two employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendant to pay costs of $930.
