A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about one enterovirus 71 infection and 14 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received during the 24 hours ending at noon today (June 15).
This brings to 402 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The new institutional outbreaks took place in Central and Western, Eastern District, Southern, Wan Chai, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Islands, North District, Sai Kung and Yuen Long.
Three schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
