Special traffic arrangements in Causeway Bay tomorrow

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements tomorrow (June 13) to facilitate a public procession to be held in Causeway Bay.

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from 11am:

(A) Road Closure

1. The leftmost lanes of a section of eastbound Hennessy Road between Luard Road and East Point Road; and a section of eastbound Yee Wo Street between East Point Road and Sugar Street will be intermittently closed;
2. Gloucester Road U-turn slip road between southbound and northbound Gloucester Road;
3. A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park Road flyover and Causeway Road will be closed if necessary; and
4. Sugar Street.

(B) Traffic Diversion

1. Traffic along southbound Gloucester Road will not be allowed to turn right to northbound Gloucester Road;
2. Traffic along southbound Victoria Park Road flyover will be diverted to turn right to Gloucester Road Service Road if necessary;
3. Traffic along southbound Gloucester Road heading for Causeway Road will be diverted to Tai Hang Road flyover southbound if necessary;
4. Traffic along eastbound Great George Street will be diverted to turn left to northbound Gloucester Road if necessary, except for traffic heading for southbound Tai Hang flyover; and
5. Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will not be allowed to turn left to Sugar Street.

(C) Suspension of Bus Stops

     All bus stops along eastbound Hennessy Road between Luard Road and East Point Road, and eastbound Yee Wo Street between East Point Road and Sugar Street will be intermittently suspended by phases from 11am until the crowd has dispersed and traffic resumes normal.

(D) Suspension of Public Light Bus Stand

     The public light bus stand at Sugar Street will be temporarily suspended from about 11am until the crowd has dispersed and traffic resumes normal.

(E) Restriction on access to or exit from car parks

     Vehicles in all car parks along the procession routes will not be permitted to leave or access the car parks during the road closure period until the roads are re-opened to traffic.

     Vehicles parked illegally will be towed away without prior warning. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience and follow the instructions of Police at scene.
