Contaminated sediment disposal facility south of The Brothers

     The Government intends to carry out dredging, management and capping of sea-bed pits within an area of approximately 153 hectares of sea-bed to the south of The Brothers. It will provide additional disposal capacity to meet the sediment disposal demand of construction and dredging works in Hong Kong.

     The work is scheduled to commence in July 2011 and to be completed by the end of 2015.

     The extent of the area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today (June 11).

     The notice together with its related plan can be seen near the site.

     The plan can also be seen and purchased on order at the Survey and Mapping Office of the Lands Department, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. It can be seen at the Islands District Office, the Tung Chung Sub-office of the Islands District Office, and on the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk).

     Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, on or before August 11.
