HFMD and EV71 situation update

A spokesman for the Department of Health said 16 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were recorded during the 24 hours ending at noon today (June 10). No enterovirus 71 infection report was received.
This brings to 369 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The institutional outbreaks took place in Eastern District, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Yau Tsim Mong and Sha Tin.
Five schools are closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
