Suspected cocaine worth $61 million seized in Wong Tai Sin (with photo)

     Police arrested three men and seized 70 kilograms of suspected cocaine worth about $61 million yesterday (June 9).

     As result of investigations, officers of the Narcotics Bureau intercepted a 20-year-old man and his 17-year-old brother outside Kam Wah House, Choi Hung Estate, Wong Tai Sin, yesterday afternoon. Police searched six carton boxes of their iron trolley and found 70 kilograms of suspected cocaine. The drugs seized could fetch about $61 million if sold in the retail market.

     After investigations, Police also arrested a 24-year-old man in Kwai Chung who is suspected to be connected with the case.

     The arrested persons are currently detained in police custody for further investigation. They will be jointly charged with one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs later and will appear in Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (June 11).
