A spokesman for the Department of Health said reports about one enterovirus 71 infection and 16 hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) institutional outbreaks were received over the three days ending at noon today (June 7).
This brings to 324 the cumulative total number of HFMD institutional outbreaks in 2010.
The institutional outbreaks took place in Wan Chai, Wong Tai Sin, Yau Tsim Mong, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Sai Kung, Shatin, Kwai Tsing and Tsuen Wan.
Five schools remain closed due to HFMD outbreaks.
